The ministerial report indicates that around 92,000 Ukrainians are receiving social benefits (primarily children, pensioners, and individuals with disabilities) totaling 760 million crowns (~$32 million) per month.
In total, there are 397,000 registered refugees in the Czech Republic. Of these, approximately 150,000 are employed, mostly in low-paying jobs such as assistants in construction and manufacturing.
"Immigrants from Ukraine are significantly helping to address the long-standing labor shortage in our country. Therefore, Czech citizens are certainly not being displaced from their jobs; on the contrary, the employment of refugees aligns with the demand structure. Not only do the contributions and taxes generated by refugees bring billions into our state budget, but their consumption does as well," explained Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Marian Jurečka.
