The Mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, announced that the city center has been excavated over the past year to prevent ongoing flooding issues. Filatov made this statement during the annual report, as reported by "Vідомо".
"People don't like it when roads are dug up, but they also dislike the puddles that form after rain. We need to build infrastructure, and we are doing this for the comfort of the residents," he stated.
According to the mayor, issues with the drainage system date back to the Soviet era due to numerous miscalculations and design flaws - these systems were constructed with errors, utilized pipes of varying diameters without proper connections, and in some cases, drainage systems were completely absent.
