"In the fall of last year, the regulator determined where "Ukrenergo" should allocate funds for 2023. These are not the objectives outlined in Law No. 4213-IX dated January 14, 2025, as the law did not exist at that time. Therefore, we hope that by the end of this month, the regulator will make a decision in accordance with the law. This will allow us to utilize these funds and make payments,” he stated during the Solar Invest Forum Ukraine organized by the Ukrainian Solar Energy Association on February 20.
According to Yurkov, the amount of funds saved by "Ukrenergo" on dispatching in 2024 must be verified by the regulator, with the audit set to begin in March.
"Based on the results, we will understand how much of the savings from dispatching in 2024 can be used to make these payments," Yurkov noted.
The savings are linked to the fact that not all services that "Ukrenergo" was supposed to receive in the market—and consequently pay for—were physically available due to military actions.
Yurkov also emphasized that "Ukrenergo" never holds funds in its account and pays them immediately as soon as the opportunity arises.
