During the "Ramstein" meeting, Gram announced that his country has allocated 700 million Norwegian kroner ($61.6 million) for the purchase of drones for Ukraine. "Ukraine is in urgent need of additional military equipment to defend against Russia's aggressive war. Drones are a crucial part of these efforts, both for protecting critical infrastructure and for use on the front lines," he noted, promising continued support for Ukraine.
Following the meeting, Umerov reported that in 2025, Norway will provide Ukraine with the largest military aid in its history – €2 billion.
"These agreements will elevate our cooperation to a new level," the minister emphasized. "Together with Mr. Gram, we discussed the priority areas for utilizing this aid. Special attention was given to strengthening air defense systems – this is a critical area, and we count on Norway's support."
Additionally, Norway will continue to invest in Ukraine’s defense industry and joint projects, particularly in ammunition production, Umerov stated.
"We discussed a new cooperation mechanism – the 'Norwegian model,' which will complement the already successful 'Danish model' and enhance our defense capabilities. Norway is one of the countries that not only assists on the battlefield but also helps unite European countries to support our state," added the head of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense.
