The UN aims to raise $2.6 billion in 2025 to assist Ukrainians, according to Shmyhal.

В 2025 году ООН намерена собрать $2,6 млрд для помощи украинцам, сообщил Шмыгаль.

"The UN plans to raise over $2.6 billion to assist Ukrainians in 2025. This is part of a plan approved by the organization. [...] It concerns the humanitarian needs and response plan of the UN in Ukraine for 2025," wrote Shmyhal.

According to him, the meeting with UN representatives discussed existing and new support programs.

"I highlighted priority projects such as providing drinking water to communities in southern Ukraine, demining, alternative sources of heat and energy, housing restoration, and shelter construction, as well as business development programs. We expect that all assistance programs for Ukrainians will continue, and we also anticipate a significant contribution from the UN towards humanitarian demining in Ukraine this year, particularly through the establishment of new programs and projects," the Prime Minister stated.

He noted that the UN has earmarked $492 million for Ukraine to get through the current heating season.

"I thank for the support and assistance provided to Ukrainians affected by the war. In 2024, various types of assistance from the UN reached 8.5 million Ukrainians," Shmyhal emphasized.

Today, the UN website published information that to support 8.2 million residents of Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees in 2025, the UN and its partners requested donors to allocate $3.32 billion.
