Reports suggest that electricity rates may increase to nearly 7 UAH per kWh. The Ministry of Energy has responded to these claims.

В интернете обсуждают возможное повышение тарифа на электроэнергию до почти 7 грн/кВт-час. Минэнерго уже отреагировало на эти слухи.

"Currently, there is no decision or draft resolution regarding the revision of electricity tariffs for the population. This issue is not even on the agenda. The spread of false statements regarding tariffs is an attempt by the enemy to destabilize the situation in Ukraine. Be cautious and trust only official sources!" – stated the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

Regarding the planned increase in electricity tariffs in Ukraine this summer, Oleg Popenko, head of the Union of Consumers of Utility Services of Ukraine, stated during an appearance on "Novini.LIVE." He posted a related video on his Facebook page on January 8.

He claims that starting from June 1, the price of electricity may rise to 6.7 UAH/kWh, and over the next few years – up to 9 UAH/kWh.
