Denmark will provide Ukraine with a new aid package to strengthen its air defense systems.

As part of the new aid package, a financial contribution is allocated to support the operation of Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets. "One of Ukraine's most pressing needs right now is the ability to defend itself against Russian airstrikes. Therefore, we are prioritizing the enhancement of air defense support," stated the country's Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

Additionally, Denmark, in cooperation with Sweden, will provide Ukraine with a number of CV90 infantry fighting vehicles. This marks the 23rd aid package from Denmark.

• In November, the Danish parliament and government reached an agreement to significantly increase military assistance to Ukraine. The fund from which military aid is directed to Ukraine will receive additional financing of 2.3 billion kroner (337 million dollars) in 2023 and 23.5 billion kroner (over 3.4 billion dollars) in the years 2025-2027. Overall, for the years 2023-2028, Denmark has reserved 60.4 billion kroner (almost 8.9 billion dollars) for military assistance to Ukraine through this fund.
