In his first major speech since taking office as NATO Secretary General in October of last year, Rutte stated: "To prevent war, we must prepare for it."
According to the NATO chief, rethinking the approach to threats means strengthening defense capabilities and improving the quality of armaments.
Rutte emphasized that Moscow is preparing for a "long-term confrontation" with Ukraine and NATO. He described the current security situation as "the most threatening" in decades and urged allies to "adapt to the new reality," reports the Euronews channel.
