Investigators have established that starting in 2023, rapeseed from the occupied territories of Ukraine, primarily from the Kherson region, is being exported to Belarus. There, the main recipient is the company "Agroprodukt." They produce oil from the rapeseed, which is then exported through Lithuania to Norway, Israel, China, the UAE, and Vietnam.
"Agroprodukt" is not included in the sanctions lists, so Lithuanian authorities previously paid no attention to the transit. According to Lithuanian railway officials, nearly 50,000 tons of "Agroprodukt" oil have already passed through Lithuania in 2024. However, according to a leak from the "Belarusian Railways," this volume turned out to be significantly larger, as several companies were involved in the transportation.
Last week, eight wagons containing oil were detained at the border station of Kyna, heading to the port of Klaipeda, reportsLRT. Earlier, Lithuania banned the import of rapeseed and its processed products from Belarus, but transit remained permitted. Currently, railway companies are conducting inspections.
