The nominees for the Grammy Awards have been announced, with Beyoncé emerging as the frontrunner.

Leading the race for the award is singer Beyoncé. She has 11 nominations across four genre categories, including "Album of the Year" for her 2024 album "Cowboy Carter," "Song of the Year," and "Best Recording."

Rappers Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Charli XCX, and singer Billie Eilish each received seven nominations. Six nominations go to the queen of American pop, Taylor Swift, along with "newcomers" on the premium list Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter.

The lists also feature many other stars: Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Roan. Contending for the title of Best New Artist on the American scene are Benson Boone, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Khruangbin, RAYE, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims.

Beyoncé released the album "Cowboy Carter" last spring. Critics believe it reflects on the undervalued legacy of African American music and its contribution to the musical culture of the USA. This is the first album recorded by an African American woman to reach the top of national charts. The song "Texas Hold 'Em" from this album is in contention for Song of the Year.

The Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on February 2, 2025, in Los Angeles.
