Political analyst Ivan Preobrazhensky has been placed on the wanted list in Russia.

About this, wrote on Facebook Preobrazhensky himself, sharing a screenshot from the Russian Interior Ministry's wanted database. According to him, his name was found in a colleague's database.

"Thus, a criminal case has been initiated against me in Russia," the political scientist states. As is often the case in such situations, the specific article of the Criminal Code under which the case was opened is not mentioned.

Ivan Preobrazhensky lives in the Czech Republic. He is involved in several anti-war initiatives and has repeatedly appeared on Radio Liberty and various other independent media outlets. He has been listed by the Russian authorities in the registry of so-called foreign agents.

It was previously reported that Russian authorities demanded the extradition of journalist Farida Kurbangaleeva from the Czech Republic, who had also been placed on the wanted list under a criminal article. In June 2024, a Russian court in absentia arrested Farida Kurbangaleeva over a case related to so-called fakes about the army and calls for terrorism. The specific reasons for the investigation against her have not been officially disclosed.
