In second place among businessmen whose fortunes increased after the elections is Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison. His wealth grew by nearly $10 billion. In third place is Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffett, whose fortune increased by more than $7.5 billion.
The top ten also includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose assets rose by $7 billion in just one day, and Google co-founder Larry Page, who saw an increase of $5.5 billion.
Overall, the combined worth of the ten richest individuals in the world surged by $63.5 billion. This marks the largest single-day increase since Bloomberg began tracking the billionaire index in 2012.
The majority of the billionaires' gains came from the rise in U.S. stocks. The S&P 500 index rose by 2.5% on November 6, marking the best performance post-election in history, according to Bloomberg.
Tesla's shares in New York surged by 15% during Wednesday's trading, bringing the total increase over the past year to 32%.
Elon Musk participated in Trump's election campaign and donated over $130 million to the Republican Party. In return, Trump promised Musk an official position in his government if he were to win.
