Three bottles containing an explosive mixture were thrown over the fence of the Russian consulate in Marseille on the morning of February 24. Two of them exploded without causing damage to the consulate building. No one was injured. The Russian Foreign Ministry labeled the incident a terrorist act, while French authorities condemned any breaches of security at diplomatic missions.
Local media reported that the two suspects were detained later that evening during a rally in support of Ukraine in Marseille.
