Yakut activist Ammosov has moved to Germany on a humanitarian visa.

Якутский активист Аммосов покинул страну и отправился в Германию, получив гуманитарную визу.

Amosov was released from prison on October 8 but did not disclose this information until he moved to Germany. He is currently residing in a refugee camp after receiving a visa and a gray "ersatz passport," which is issued by German authorities to foreign nationals, reports Sibir.Realii.

The activist told "Important Stories" that he lived in poor conditions in a Kazakhstan prison: there was no clean water, heating, or access to books, and he did not receive any packages. According to Amosov, he witnessed three riots during his imprisonment.

Following the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Aikhal Amosov conducted several anti-war actions in Yakutsk. He displayed a banner reading Yakutian punk against war on the roof of the "Samorodok" swimming pool in the city center during a visit by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and he also appeared at a funeral services agency holding a sign that said "The Groom Has Arrived" – a reference with an anti-war message to Alexei Balabanov's film "Cargo 200."

In 2022, Amosov was fined three times for administrative offenses related to the so-called discrediting of the army due to his anti-war actions, and subsequently, a criminal case was opened against him on charges of discrediting the military.

The activist moved to Kazakhstan. In Russia, another case was initiated against him in absentia – on charges of justifying terrorism.

In October 2023, he was detained in Kazakhstan, and a measure of restraint in the form of detention was imposed at the request of Russian authorities "in connection with an extradition issue." He was sent to extradition detention for 12 months. In November 2023, while in the Almaty pre-trial detention center, Aikhal Amosov received a certificate in Kazakhstan confirming his status as an asylum seeker. This status prevents the extradition of Russians until their asylum claims are reviewed. Amosov was released after a year from the date of his detention and left for Germany.
