The second largest airport in Germany, Munich Airport, is regarded as a significant international transport hub. Due to a strike in Munich, approximately 80% of the 1,600 flights were canceled in advance. In Hamburg, the flight schedule was largely maintained, with only a few of the 500 flights canceled; however, delays and disruptions are still possible. Passengers at both airports should be prepared for potential flight cancellations and other restrictions. Both airports have urged travelers to stay updated by checking the websites of the relevant airlines.
The union announced the strike to increase pressure on employers during wage negotiations, demanding higher salaries for civil servants.

Unions are demanding an eight percent wage increase from federal and local government employers, with a minimum raise of 350 euros per month.
