Belarusian authorities have expanded the list of banned books.

Власти Беларуси обновили перечень книг, подлежащих запрету.

The country's Ministry of Information has added 30 new books to the list, including Chuck Palahniuk's novel "Lullaby," which deals with the deaths of infants caused by a cursed lullaby, and "GULAG" by journalist Anne Applebaum. The sale of these publications is now prohibited.

The list of banned books was first released at the end of November 2024 and included 35 titles. Among them are "120 Days of Sodom" by Marquis de Sade, the ethnographic work "Intimate Russia" by Natalia Seregina and Nadezhda Adamovich, and the novel "Summer in a Pioneer Tie" by Katerina Silvanova and Elena Malisova.
