Brazil announced Indonesia's joining of BRICS.

Jakarta announced its readiness to join BRICS at the summit in Kazan in October. Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world, but its economy currently does not rank among the top ten largest.

This is the first country from Southeast Asia to achieve full membership. As of January, Malaysia and Thailand became partner countries of the organization. It was previously reported that Indonesia was also expected to hold this status. Jakarta has not commented on this yet.
