The publication analyzed the declarations of airport leaders in Ukraine, noting that they are not fully operational due to the closure of air traffic because of the war.
"The director of the destroyed airport in Donetsk, which has been out of service for 10 years, continues to receive a salary: in 2022, Vladislav Bliznyuk earned 119.3 thousand UAH, and in 2023 – 309.2 thousand UAH. It is worth mentioning that the KP 'Donetsk International Airport named after S.S. Prokofiev' is currently registered in Sloviansk," the authors write.
According to their data, the highest salary over the two years of full-scale war was received by the CEO of Boryspil Airport, Oleksandr Dubrevskyi – 4 million UAH in 2022 and 3.8 million UAH in 2023.
"Dubrevskyi stated that although the airport is closed, it still maintains the technical readiness of its infrastructure and production technological systems, works on improving safety, and supports the qualification level of its personnel. Some employees continue to work in regular mode with a full scope of responsibilities. The training of specialists is also ongoing through the airport training centers," notes "Slovo i Delo."
According to their declarations, the top three airport leaders with the highest salary income for 2022–2023 also include the acting director of the Zaporizhzhia airport, Oleksandr Konyakhin (1.064 million UAH and 1.073 million UAH), and the director of Lviv airport, Tatyana Romanovska (906 thousand UAH and 872.8 thousand UAH).
