By the end of the year, DTEK invested over 3 billion UAH in repairs and restoration of thermal power plants (TPPs). These investments enabled the recovery of more than half of the capacities damaged during the attacks in spring and summer of 2024. However, the massive assaults in November and December resulted in new significant destruction.
Approximately 7.5 billion UAH were invested in the coal mining industry. This allowed for the necessary fuel reserves for thermal generation to be maintained throughout the year. The funds were allocated for:
- conducting and repairing capital mining operations;
- completing coal faces;
- equipping mines with tunneling machinery;
- underground mining transport;
- projects to maintain production capacities.
"We are directing all possible and available resources to ensure that thermal generation and the Ukrainian energy system can operate steadily under enemy attacks. For this purpose, last year we invested approximately 11 billion UAH of our own funds in TPPs and mines," noted Alexander Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Energy.
