Another airline has suspended its flights to Russia.

Еще одна авиакомпания прекратила выполнение рейсов в Россию.

The reasons have not been disclosed. However, the decision comes in the wake of the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane, which likely came under fire from air defense systems near Grozny during an attack by Ukrainian drones.

Following the crash on December 25, the Israeli airline El Al halted flights to Russia. Kazakhstan's Qazaq Air suspended flights on the route from Astana to Yekaterinburg. FlyDubai canceled flights from Dubai to Sochi and Mineralnye Vody.

Flights to Russia have also been reduced by Azerbaijan Airlines itself. The authorities of Azerbaijan have prohibited regular flights to Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Volgograd, Ufa, Samara, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, and Vladikavkaz since Saturday. Return flights for Russian companies are also banned, which has led to the suspension of flights from Mineralnye Vody to Baku and Ganja, as well as from Sochi to Baku, as reported on Saturday by the Russian company Azimuth, according to Interfax.

The Azerbaijan Airlines flight from Baku to Grozny crashed on December 25 in Kazakhstan after an unsuccessful landing attempt in Chechnya. There were 67 people on board, 38 of whom perished. The official investigation into the crash has not been completed, and the cause has been attributed to "external influence."

Just minutes before signaling a distress call, the crashed plane flew over areas from which shots were fired at Ukrainian drones, noted Radio Free Europe.

Between 8:13 and 8:25 AM, the plane passed over Urus-Martan – where two videos (1, 2, 3) were geo-located showing unidentified individuals attempting to shoot down a flying Ukrainian drone with small arms. The distress signal was sent between 8:23 and 8:25.
