According to the investigation, a company from Kryvyi Rih sent 20,000 defective sleeping bags to one of the military units in 2023.
The value of the shipment was 30 million UAH. An examination revealed that the goods did not meet technical specifications, rendering them unusable for their intended purpose, as reported by the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR). Specifically, the fabric composition did not meet the stated requirements, and the sleeping bags were missing essential components: a fleece lining and a layer of special fabric that prevents air permeability.
"The military unit filed a lawsuit for the recovery of penalties amounting to 6 million UAH and for the replacement of the sleeping bags with quality ones, which was fully granted," the report stated.
The investigation is looking into the possible involvement of officials from the military unit, the bureau noted.
