Zelensky stated that he held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), during which several key issues regarding Ukraine's financial stability were discussed.
"There is a significant problem with the imbalance between imports and exports; imports – excluding weapons – far exceed our exports. This trend needs to be reversed. We must create many more opportunities for production in Ukraine and support all forms of economic activity within the country," the president noted. "Just as we are attracting foreign investments in arms production, officials should also be working in other sectors."
According to Zelensky, at the NSDC meeting, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported on programs to support Ukrainians and Ukrainian businesses.
"No matter how difficult it gets, we are finding funds to assist all Ukrainians and local producers. Almost 13 million applications for the 'eSupport' program have been submitted, and nearly 13 billion UAH has been disbursed directly to Ukrainian families, our citizens. The number of program participants proves its necessity and the need for similar direct support initiatives. There are already over 5 million clients in the 'National Cashback' program – this is also a significant number of participants that speaks for itself," the president emphasized.
