"Just because something has been published online does not mean it is true. There is a significant difference from the contents of 'black boxes.' Wait for official sources," – emphasized Bozumbaev.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the leaked data may represent recordings from ground services rather than conversations captured by onboard recorders. "The black box contains all the communications between the captain, pilot, and crew members. They are somewhat more extensive," the Deputy Prime Minister clarified.
Bozumbaev also mentioned that copies of the investigation materials have already been sent to Russia and Azerbaijan for further analysis.
- The Telegram channel Baza reported in January that it had obtained a full transcript of the conversations between the crashed AZAL plane and the air traffic controllers in Grozny, Rostov-on-Don, and Aktau. Officials have not confirmed the authenticity of the published transcripts.
- The "Azerbaijan Airlines" aircraft was operating a flight from Baku to Grozny on December 25. There were 67 people on board. 38 of them, including three crew members, died as a result of the crash near Aktau. The investigation is ongoing, but the leading theory for the aviation disaster suggests that the fuselage was damaged by the striking elements of a surface-to-air missile in the sky over Grozny.
- Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev stated that Baku does not consider the damage to the aircraft to be intentional, but the responsibility for the disaster "lies with representatives of the Russian Federation." Aliyev demanded that Russia acknowledge its guilt and punish those responsible.
- Russian President Vladimir Putin apologized for the Azerbaijani plane disaster but did not take responsibility.
