Meta will replace the work of fact-checkers with a user note system.

According to Zuckerberg, the complex system for combating misinformation and harmful content often made mistakes, leading to censorship. For instance, during the 2016 U.S. presidential elections, fact-checkers frequently exhibited bias when it came to political issues.

Now, the rules will be simplified, allowing users to report posts. The corporation will review complaints before removing any content.

Additionally, Meta will stop intentionally hiding political posts, deeming them important for the audience.

Content moderation departments will be relocated from California to Texas to reduce suspicions of political bias. Meta also plans to collaborate with U.S. authorities, including elected President Donald Trump, to counteract restrictions on social networks in other countries.

The Community Notes system is already in use on the X social network, allowing users to add context to posts, making them more informative.
