Russian Defense Ministry reports that 16 drones were shot down over various regions during the night.

The Governor of Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko, announced that three drones were shot down by air defense systems near the Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland. There were no damages or casualties reported. According to Drozdenko, a total of four UAVs were downed overnight and in the morning, which he described as a "record" achievement.

The press service of Rosaviatsiya informed in the morning about the temporary restrictions on the operations of St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport, stating it was done "for the safety of civilian flights." The restrictions were lifted later in the morning, noting that during their implementation, 20 flights were redirected to alternate airfields.

The Governor of Smolensk Region, Vasily Anokhin, announced that five drones were shot down over the region overnight. The governor of Bryansk, Alexander Bogomaz, reported in his Telegram channel the destruction of four UAVs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of aircraft type.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the downing of 16 Ukrainian drones overnight across several regions. According to the ministry, ten UAVs were shot down over Bryansk Region, three over Smolensk, and one each over Belgorod, Pskov, and Leningrad Regions. Later, the Ministry of Defense announced an additional 10 Ukrainian drones were downed in Leningrad, Pskov, Kursk, and Voronezh Regions.

According to Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev, at least five drones were detected and suppressed in Voronezh and its suburbs on January 4.

The Governor of Belgorod Region reported late Friday about the destruction of several aerial targets in the region and one injured resident in the Prokhorovsky District. Assistance was provided to him on site. In the village of Prelestnoye, a private house and a car were damaged, while in the village of Mikhailovka, a gas pipeline was damaged at a residential property, added Gladkov.

The authorities in Ukraine typically rarely comment on information from Russian officials regarding attacks on regions since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory.
