According to him, the gas market situation in Ukraine poses a threat to the stability of the energy system, as the state monopoly operates against economic logic.
"The subsidiary of Naftogaz, Ukrtransgaz, is purchasing imported gas at 32,500 UAH ($790) per 1,000 m³. They are buying in very large volumes. The price is now more than twice what it was in the summer of 2024, when it needed to be actively pumped into storage," Kucherenko wrote.
The deputy stated that Naftogaz sells gas on the domestic market for 17,000 UAH per 1,000 m³, undermining the market.
He also claimed that the company has done everything possible to minimize gas production by private companies.
"The 'efficiency' is off the charts! Who do you think will ultimately pay for all this? And where will the funds come from for the enormous need for imported gas in the next heating season?" – Kucherenko emphasized.
