Norwegian police have released a vessel with a Russian crew on board.

Норвежская полиция освободила корабль с российским экипажем.

"The investigation will continue, but we see no reason for the vessel to remain in Tromsø. No conclusions have been drawn linking the vessel to the incident," the Tromsø police explained.

The vessel "Silver Dania," which was traveling from St. Petersburg to Murmansk, was detained on the evening of January 30 at the request of Latvia. The crew voluntarily followed the Norwegian Coast Guard. It was noted that the vessel is owned by a Norwegian company and sails under the Norwegian flag, but is operated by a team of 11 Russians.

Latvia reported damage to an optical fiber cable connecting it to the Swedish island of Gotland along the bottom of the Baltic Sea on Sunday, January 26. The country's authorities suspect "external interference."

The following day, the Swedish police detained the bulk carrier "Vezen," registered in Malta and part of the fleet of a Bulgarian company, which was in that area of the Baltic Sea. The crew denies intentional damage to the cable, adding that the vessel's anchoring device was damaged by a storm.
