Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office reports that Russians shot six captured Ukrainian soldiers.

Офис Генерального прокурора Украины сообщает, что россияне расстреляли шесть украинских военнопленных.

"According to preliminary data, during the assault on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region, the occupiers captured six servicemen of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and subsequently executed them," – stated the agency.

Earlier, a video was posted on social media, which allegedly shows Russian soldiers shooting automatic weapons at the backs of six individuals – presumably Ukrainian soldiers who had surrendered. Before this, they were ordered to "lie down and shut up." The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, noted that "the occupiers have recorded their own crime on video."

There has been no response from the Russian side regarding this information.

Previously, the Office of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General reported that the number of murders of prisoners of war by Russians has been increasing each month. In October-November, the prosecution opened 13 cases regarding the murders of 54 Ukrainian prisoners, which accounts for one-third of all such cases in 2024, writes "Ukrainian Truth".

  • Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukrainian territory, the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine has initiated nearly 170,000 criminal cases related to war crimes and crimes against national security. The overwhelming majority of these cases, nearly 145,000, are connected with violations of the laws and customs of war. This includes the murders of prisoners of war by Russian military personnel, as well as cruel treatment of captives and the use of weapons prohibited by international law.
