The department noted that the program is the initial phase of a support plan, with a total amount of 5 billion Swiss francs (€5.3 billion). The plan was adopted in 2024, and the provision of support will continue until 2036.
The document states that the government has identified key areas for the program, including the protection of civilians, ensuring peace, economic recovery, and strengthening institutional capacity.
In the initial phase, funding will be directed towards supporting the private sector, particularly agriculture, as well as carrying out reconstruction efforts in cities. Special attention will be given to restoring the operation of medical facilities, as well as the social and educational sectors.
Additionally, part of the funds will be allocated for demining operations and the search for missing persons.
