Trudeau wrote a post against the backdrop of the U.S. imposing tariffs on Canadian goods starting February 1 at a rate of 25%.
"Now is the perfect time to choose products made right here in Canada. Check the labels. Let’s contribute. Wherever possible, choose Canada," emphasized the Canadian Prime Minister.
Late at night in Kyiv on February 2, Trudeau stated at a press conference that Canada will impose retaliatory tariffs of 25% on American goods worth CAD 155 billion (approximately $107 billion at the rate of the Canadian central bank).
At the same time, Trudeau mentioned that he is eagerly looking forward to a conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump "in the coming days and weeks."
