Ruslan Shostak, president of the TERWIN corporation, founder and co-owner of the EVA and Varus chains, has made it to the UP 100 list of the most influential Ukrainians according to the publication. His work has exemplified a significant contribution to strengthening independence, maintaining the economic front, and building a strong future for the country.
"My primary goal as a businessman has always been and remains to prepare the business and people for various scenarios of events, to avoid panic and chaos, and to ensure that the business continues to operate regardless of the circumstances," – shares Ruslan Shostak.
By the time the war began, the EVA and Varus warehouses were stocked with products, generators had been procured, and psychologists were working with employees to minimize human stress after the onset of the full-scale invasion.
At the very start of the war, at the initiative of the first ladies of two countries – Ukraine and Turkey – a decision was made to evacuate Ukrainian orphans for their safety. Ruslan Shostak took on all organizational matters and fully financed the evacuation and accommodation of orphans in Turkey. Subsequently, a fund was established, which international partners joined to support the children in Turkey for three years.
This evacuation was recorded in the World Book of Records and became the only example of private funding for the stay of Ukrainian children abroad.
Additionally, Ruslan Shostak's Fund became an official partner of the army in providing wheeled transport through the unified national platform "Hero Car." He developed a system for uninterrupted supplies of pickups from Europe to Ukraine. At a time when it seemed that there were no more used SUVs left in the world, the necessary vehicles continue to be supplied to the front as part of the "Hero Car" project.
A year ago, the businessman consolidated assets into the TERWIN corporation to scale the successful experience of existing projects. In 2023, the corporation paid 3 billion UAH in taxes, invested 3 billion UAH in development since 2021, and directed 570 million UAH in support of the army and charity since the beginning of the full-scale war.
Today, the corporation is working on implementing one of the largest investment projects in Ukraine – the large-scale construction of WinHub logistics hubs covering 1 million m² in the Odesa, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kyiv regions. The investment volume exceeds $700 million. This is an innovative project featuring renewable energy sources, a full cycle of waste processing and disposal, comprehensive infrastructure, and job creation.
Ruslan Shostak's contribution to the development of Ukraine has been recognized with numerous awards. He received the Order of Merit of the III degree for strengthening interstate cooperation, supporting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and making a significant contribution to promoting the Ukrainian state in the world, the "Manager of the Year" award for the best managerial decisions during the war, as well as gratitude from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for his substantial contribution and active assistance to the army.
"I thank the UP publication for such an extremely responsible role – to be in the UP 100 ranking alongside incredible leaders who daily prove through real actions that Ukraine will undoubtedly endure in this hard struggle. For me, as a representative of business, it is not about status, but about real deeds. I am convinced that joint projects between business, government, and society hold particular significance in these exceedingly challenging times for the entire country. Being in the UP 100 ranking is a tremendous responsibility. After all, it is the participants of such a large-scale ranking who must demonstrate resilience and, in essence, create the future of an independent and strong Ukraine," – shared Ruslan Shostak, president of the TERWIN corporation.
