The Security Service of Ukraine has launched an investigation following the release of information about a secret meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the statement from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), as quoted by UP, the case involves individuals who obtained information about a classified session of the Verkhovna Rada. The publication does not clarify whether it concerns the sources of "Ukrainian Truth" or its journalists.

The editor-in-chief of "Ukrainian Truth," Sevgi Musaeva, stated that the editorial team operated within the law. "Freedom of speech and citizens' access to information are fundamental values of a democratic society," she emphasized in a comment to the publication.

The article "Trump, War, Elections. What Will Define the New Political Season in Ukraine" was published on "Ukrainian Truth" on Monday, January 27. It included a direct quote from Budanov's speech to the deputies: "If there are no serious negotiations by summer, very dangerous processes may begin for the very existence of Ukraine."

The Main Intelligence Directorate later declared that Budanov did not say that.
