Specifically, the deadline for receiving payments has been extended. Now, the countdown for processing assistance begins from the day the court's decision declaring the serviceman deceased comes into effect.
Previously, the three-year period for submitting documents for a one-time cash payment was calculated from the date of death listed on the certificate. This meant that close relatives of military personnel, who were declared deceased by the court after a long absence, could lose their right to assistance due to the expiration of deadlines even before the decision was made.
Additionally, the government has introduced an emergency one-time cash payment for individuals with Group I disabilities, who often do not receive assistance in their lifetime due to long waiting times in the general queue.
