In the past year, the U.S. has expelled more migrants than in any previous year.

За последний год США депортировали больше мигрантов, чем в любые предыдущие годы.

According to a report from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, this year President Biden's administration has deported over 270,000 individuals to 192 countries, marking the highest annual figure since 2014.

The agency attributes the rise in deportations to diplomatic efforts. In recent years, Washington has successfully persuaded governments of other nations to accept more deported citizens. For instance, a greater number of migrants have been sent back to African and Asian countries that had not accepted deportees from the U.S. for many years.

Similar deportation numbers were recorded during Donald Trump's first presidential term: 267,000 deportations in 2019. Now, the elected president promises to conduct "the largest operation for the deportation of migrants."

According to the Pew Research Center, there are approximately 11 million undocumented migrants living in the U.S. Experts believe that given these numbers, the future Trump administration may face significant challenges in implementing the elected president's plan, reports "Voice of America."
