"False information is circulating in the media. There are no changes to gas tariffs for the population. The decision of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NERC) to approve new gas transportation tariffs will not affect household consumers," the National Commission stated.
They reminded that on December 30, NERC adopted new tariffs for the transportation of natural gas for the "Operator of the Gas Transmission System of Ukraine," which are calculated for the entry and exit points during the regulatory period from 2025 to 2029, starting January 1, 2025. This decision was made due to the cessation of Russian gas transit through the territory of Ukraine from that date.
NERC Chairman Yuriy Vlasenko emphasized that the tariffs for gas and heating for household consumers remain unchanged, as they are fixed for the entire heating season.
The National Commission highlighted that the cost of gas distribution also remains unchanged.
"The moratorium on tariff increases for the population for gas and heating, in effect since 2022, remains in place. Consequently, the costs for hot water and heating will not change. [...] The changes [in gas transportation prices] are aimed solely at ensuring the stability of the gas transmission system of Ukraine under the new conditions. No changes will occur for household consumers," NERC explained.
The National Commission urged the media to "carefully consider the dissemination of information regarding tariffs and avoid speculation on this socially sensitive topic."
