In the initial hours following its launch, the market capitalization of the meme coin $TRUMP reached three billion dollars, and after just an hour and a half, it surpassed four billion.
The project's website is designed in Trump's style and features his phrase "Fight, fight, fight," which he said after an assassination attempt in the summer of 2024.
Trump, who previously labeled cryptocurrencies as a scam, changed his stance during his election campaign. He promised to make the U.S. the "world capital of cryptocurrency" and to accumulate a national reserve of bitcoins.
In early December of last year, Trump announced the nomination of crypto lobbyist Paul Atkins for the position of head of the Securities and Exchange Commission, which is considered one of the most influential opponents of cryptocurrencies in the global financial arena. Following this, the price of bitcoin exceeded one hundred thousand dollars for the first time.
