Trump unveiled "the largest AI project in history."

The project named Stargate will be a joint venture between American companies OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle, which will invest $500 billion into it.

It is expected that as part of the project, data centers and computing infrastructure will be built across the country to further develop artificial intelligence. Additionally, according to Trump, the enterprise will create over one hundred thousand jobs "almost immediately."

The launch of the project marks one of Trump's first major business initiatives since his inauguration on January 20. Trump has also rescinded his predecessor Joe Biden's multi-page executive order on artificial intelligence safety standards and watermarking. All of this signifies a radical shift in U.S. policy regarding AI as the country seeks new ways to maintain an edge over China in artificial intelligence capabilities, reports The Guardian.
