Ukrainian director Mstyslav Chernov won an award at the Sundance Film Festival.

Украинский режиссёр Мстислав Чернов стал лауреатом фестиваля "Сандэнс".

The new film by Chernov focuses on one of the episodes of the Ukrainian counteroffensive in 2023 - the battles for the village of Andriivka, located 10 kilometers from Bakhmut. At that time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to drive Russian troops out of the village, but after a while, it was recaptured by them.

In March 2024, Chernov received an Oscar for the documentary "20 Days in Mariupol." The film tells the story of the first days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, particularly the siege of Mariupol.

The film also won the Pulitzer Prize and the award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) for "Best Documentary Feature." Viewers in Russia and other post-Soviet countries can watch the film on the free streaming platform Votvot, created by the media corporation Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
