The law provides for the repayment of "Ukrenergo" debts through excess revenues.
According to the new legislation, "Ukrenergo" is required to settle its debts in the energy market using the excess revenues obtained from dispatch management for the years 2023–2024.
The distribution of funds is as follows:
- 45% of the total amount will be allocated to repay debts in the balancing market;
- another 45% will be directed to payments for industrial producers of electricity from renewable energy sources (RES);
- the remaining 10% will cover debts to universal service providers to compensate owners of household solar power plants (SPP).
The aim of this mechanism is to stabilize the financial condition of the energy market and support the key participants in the industry.
