"In 2024, foreign citizens opened 1,109 new companies. This marks a 24% decrease compared to 2023. When compared to 2021, the number of such businesses has fallen by 60%," the report states.
The service noted that citizens from 78 countries established businesses in Ukraine last year. The most active were citizens from Turkey (201), Poland (90), and the USA (89).
"Nearly half of the new foreign companies are located in Kyiv – 542 (48.9%). Other popular regions included Lviv Oblast – 137 companies (12.4%) and Odesa Oblast – 122 companies (11%)," Opendatabot highlighted.
According to the data, foreign companies are primarily engaged in wholesale trade (23%), computer programming (9.8%), and real estate operations (7.8%).
"Among the newly established companies last year, the highest charter capital belongs to LLC 'DVL UKR' from Kyiv. Its ultimate beneficiary is a citizen of France, and the charter capital amounted to 1.18 billion UAH," Opendatabot reported.
