"Repairs and restoration are ongoing. Throughout 2024, approximately 4 GW of thermal and hydroelectric power capacity has been restored. [...] According to the Ministry of Energy, 233 generating units with a total installed capacity of over 830 MW were connected in 2024. This primarily concerns gas generation, specifically gas turbine, gas piston, and cogeneration plants," said the Prime Minister.
He expressed gratitude to international partners for their assistance with equipment and funding for these projects.
"This year, we plan to restore an additional approximately 3 GW. [...] At the same time, we continue to construct new facilities and develop distributed generation, which meets local needs and creates a system that is less vulnerable to attacks. This year, the Ministry of Energy and other responsible agencies have been tasked with bringing approximately 900 MW of distributed generation capacity online," emphasized Shmyhal.
