The number of far-right extremist crimes in Germany has sharply increased.

В Германии заметно увеличилось количество преступлений, связанных с правым экстремизмом.

Among the recorded crimes, 1136 were violent. In 2024, there was an increase in so-called propaganda crimes (21,311) and crimes motivated by interethnic hatred (5,097). Additionally, the police reported 1,942 incidents of property damage due to far-right extremist motives.

The statistics for December have not yet been calculated by the ministry. However, even in the first 11 months of 2024, far-right extremist crimes increased by 17.34 percent compared to 2023. Most of the suspects are adults, but there has also been a rise among minors.

Martina Renner, a member of the Left Party and an expert on right-wing extremism, emphasized that the statistics indicate a troubling development. "When we talk about more than three thousand neo-Nazi crimes per month, we must consider the fundamental consequences," she stated to the RND agency.

In recent years, the number of crimes has been increasing by 20–25 percent, Renner noted, yet "there are no concrete political measures in place to halt this dangerous trend."
