Three people were killed in shelling in the Kherson region.

According to reports, 25 settlements in the region, including Kherson and Berislav, were subjected to shelling. At least 8 residential buildings were damaged, and infrastructure suffered losses.

On the night of December 23, 2024, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 72 strike drones, reports the command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 47 drones were shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Odesa regions, while another 25 drones were lost locally.

Yesterday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in the Kupiansk direction, four attacks by the Russian army were recorded near the villages of Petropavlivka and Kruhlyakivka in the Kharkiv region over the past day. According to the Ukrainian service of Radio Free Europe, Russian armored vehicles, including an infantry fighting vehicle and a tank, were destroyed during the fighting.

The front line is located a few kilometers east of Kupiansk, a major railway hub in eastern Ukraine. Russian troops are attempting to advance north and south of the city, disregarding losses. According to Ukrainian sources, the Kremlin has set the goal of capturing Kupiansk by the New Year.

In October, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleg Synegubov, reported that the situation in the Kupiansk direction was constantly changing, with Russian forces approaching the city by four kilometers. Evacuations continue in the region.
