Funeral services for Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, are currently taking place in Lebanon.

The memorial service is taking place at the Camille Chamoun Stadium in the capital of Lebanon. Tens of thousands of Nasrallah's supporters have already gathered there, reports Al Jazeera. The coffin with Nasrallah's body will be displayed in the center of the stadium. The mourning ceremony will also be broadcast on large screens in the streets.

Hezbollah representative Ali Damush stated that around 800 officials from 65 countries are expected to attend the funeral. Notably, Iranian Parliament representative Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will be present at the funeral, reports Associated Press.

• Nasrallah was killed during an Israeli airstrike on Hezbollah's headquarters in southern Beirut on September 27, 2024. Prior to this, he had led Hezbollah for over 30 years.
• Hezbollah is both a militant group and a political party that controls a large portion of the Shiite-populated areas in southern Lebanon. The group is designated as a terrorist organization in Israel and the USA. The EU considers its military wing to be terrorist.
• According to a statement from the Israeli army, nearly 450 Hezbollah members, including 30 commanders of various ranks, were killed during Israel's ground operation in Lebanon.
