It is noted that due to indexing, pensions for more than 10 million Ukrainians will increase by 11.5%.
According to the resolution adopted by the Cabinet, pensions will be indexed starting March 1 for:
- 9.2 million retirees receiving pensions on general grounds;
- 672 thousand retirees from law enforcement agencies;
- 98 thousand individuals receiving pensions due to disability and loss of breadwinner as a result of the Chernobyl disaster;
- 79.6 thousand pensioners – individuals with disabilities due to war and combatants receiving minimum pension payments;
- 23.4 thousand pensioners – former employees of local government bodies and civil servants.
"This year, the lowest pensions, which had not been indexed until 2023, will be indexed again. The average projected increase in pensions after indexing will be 556 UAH, and the average pension in Ukraine will rise from 5789 to 6345 UAH," said Zholnovich.
Additionally, starting March 1, monthly insurance payments for 158 thousand individuals affected by workplace accidents and occupational diseases leading to loss of ability to work, as well as those entitled to insurance payments in the event of the victim's death, will also be indexed, the Ministry of Social Policy added.
Furthermore, on April 1, an automatic recalculation of pensions will occur for 629 thousand working pensioners (considering their updated insurance period).
"At the same time, temporary limits will be imposed on the maximum amount of pension indexing. The increase resulting from indexing will be capped at 1500 UAH for all pension and insurance payment recipients, regardless of category," the statement said. "The minimum increase in pensions will be at least 100 UAH."
