In Berlin, people gathered at the Memorial to the Burned Books in Bebelplatz to honor the memory of war victims with a moment of silence. Participants in the Day of Mourning brought and lit candles. There were no speeches during the event.
Earlier, an anarchist demonstration also took place in Berlin, where participants marched demanding an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine. As writes SOTAvision, the column of demonstrators moved along Unter den Linden street past the Russian embassy and joined the protest of Ukrainian activists at the Brandenburg Gate.
In Tbilisi, the event began at the Ukrainian embassy, where attendees held flags of Ukraine, Georgia, and the EU. The participants then marched towards the parliament building, reports Paper Kartuli.
Several dozen people also participated in a demonstration in Yerevan.
In Rome, the anti-war protest was titled Russi Contro La Guerra – "Russians Against the War."
In Moscow, flowers were laid at the monument to Lesya Ukrainka. A girl wearing a shirt that read "February 24, 2022 - A February Lasting for Years" was detained at the monument, reported Meduza. A passing woman expressed her outrage at the flower-laying, starting to break and throw away the flowers. She justified her actions by saying that "boys are dying." According to SOTAvision, the woman was arrested by the police.
In St. Petersburg, flowers were brought to the memorial for victims of political repression.
