On January 23, during a video address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he intends to ask Saudi Arabia and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to lower oil prices in order to expedite the conclusion of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
When asked whether Saudi Arabia would reduce oil prices, Alibraheem responded that Riyadh is focused on the long-term stability of the oil market.
According to him, "the kingdom's and OPEC's position is aimed at ensuring long-term market stability to guarantee sufficient supply for the growing demand," including from the U.S. and artificial intelligence.
As reported by Reuters, following Trump's remarks, oil prices fell on January 23, but partially recovered the next day.
