In the U.S., citizens of Russia and Uzbekistan have been accused of fraud.

According to the investigation, 45-year-old Russian Dmitry Shushlebin and 33-year-old Uzbek Sanjar Jamilov conspired and submitted 132 fraudulent voter registration applications in February and March 2023 in Pinellas County, Florida.

The documents were filled out under other people's names and sent in envelopes with identical labels. They contained repeated birth dates, addresses, and consecutive social security numbers.

If found guilty, Shushlebin and Jamilov face up to five years in prison each. The investigation is being conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the FBI, and Florida law enforcement agencies.
