WSJ: Trump will launch raids against migrants immediately following his inauguration.

WSJ: Трамп запустит операции против мигрантов сразу после своей инаугурации.

The raid is set to involve between 100 and 200 employees of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The primary focus will be on migrants with criminal backgrounds, including traffic violations and other offenses that the current administration under President Joe Biden has deemed minor for prosecution.

Chicago has been chosen for the raid for two reasons: the city attracts a significant number of migrants due to its relatively lenient regulations, and there has been a longstanding public feud between Trump and the city's Democratic mayor, Brandon Johnson.

Following Chicago, similar raids may take place in New York, Los Angeles, Denver, and Miami, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Trump promised during his campaign to initiate "the largest deportation program in U.S. history," aimed at removing between 15 and 20 million migrants from the country. The elected president stated that he would begin addressing illegal immigration from his first day in the White House.
