"I am grateful for the Japanese government's decision to transfer an additional $3 billion to Ukraine, secured by frozen Russian assets, as well as for the extra assistance for energy equipment and the construction of shelters," emphasized the president.
According to Zelensky, he congratulated Kishida on his election as head of government and thanked the Japanese people for all the humanitarian and financial aid (totaling $12 billion) provided to our country.
"I informed Prime Minister Kishida about the massive shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure by Russia on Christmas night and expressed gratitude for Japan's readiness to work towards achieving a just and lasting peace as soon as possible," noted Zelensky.
He also added that the leaders agreed to meet to continue the dialogue.
